Web Site Planning. In planning your site, you and your stakeholders should agree on the site's purpose, audience, objectives, scope, budget, schedule, responsibilities, and risks... 2. Conceptual Design.During the conceptual design phase, map the site flow using storyboarding or other techniques; establish the content structure and navigation; determine the technology approach; define and document the process for authoring, reviewing, and approving content; and create a prototype as needed to validate the design. Then refine the budget and schedule as necessary... If you don't have a professional communicator on your team already, this is a good time to include one. A writer or editor will add a valuable perspective on ways to organize and present your material effectively. If you do not have such a person readily available, contact sampeinfo@mollyduggan.com for help. 3. Implementation. This phase includes building the site framework, loading the content, testing the site, obtaining approvals, and launching the site. 4. Maintenance and Continuous Improvement. For suggestions and tools for keeping your site fresh, Maintenance and Continuous Improvement packages are available by contacting sampeinfo@mollyduggan.com. |
